It's super simple to re-prompt the LLM to remove the offensive part of the answer... We all have to do it on a regular basis... If you give the AI the power to change it's own code, the results can be un-predictable... The responsible AI programmer would include a scheme to track and roll back any changes that are deemed undesirable, unethical, or un-anything... but yes, it's fine to be skeptical or suspicious...

If you didn't set the boundary conditions for the AI, you did a bad job and the results are a reflection on you, not the AI.

I had a similar issue. I'm very familiar with TurboTax SW so buying it was a better option than learning the free options. I have several additional schedules. However, I mistakenly bought the full biz package, but was trying to buy the Personal and Small Biz package I normally used. There little questionnaire tricked me into buying that more expensive package, but I immediately realized it wasn't what I wanted because the full biz package doesn't even include personal tax retrun. Trying to return the package was a nightmare and I basically could not do it. Just finished entering a dispute with my credit card... Next year, I'll plan to take the time to learn the free option and be rid of Turbo Tax forever. Also, we should make this much easier. The government has most of the info. Just need to enter your deductions and hit accept...

ya, I doubt this is how it turns out in the modern world. Look at what Google did when facing similar complaints from the EU in 2018. They started charging Android device makers a royalty for devices sold in the EU where they were bundling their chrome and android apps. MS will do the same. In the end, MS will get more money from EU buyers and who still want to put windows on their machines. I'll bet you a dogecoin or three...

Feels likely things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. Besides fake news I've had several conversations where SW devs will be impacted by AI. Simply go to ChatGP and ask it to create code for a specific purpose in a specific language and you will get a pretty detailed code snippet with explanations. I asked it create code for selecting one of three cameras in Android and it returned with a module which checked for camera permissions and asked the user to enable if needed along with a section for error handing. Full disclosure, I'm not a SW dev, I'm a Product Manager, but it looked pretty good to me.
