As for the study you linked to that would be wonderful if I lived out in the country away from major roads. I don't I live in the city. I am surrounded by large roads. Small roads too. Every single square inch surrounding me is surrounded by roads with plenty of tires wearing over them.
So yes you are correct if you get away from the roads you get away from the tire particulate because it settles into the soil near the roads. But because we built our entire transportation system around cars roads are fucking everywhere unless you live out in the boondocks which if you need a job and it doesn't involve farming is probably not an option.
