The point is they didn't follow orders of the TX safety board. (If interpreting that correctly.) Whether they were "logically justified" in not following orders is moot. It's TX's roads and they get final say. If Waymo gets arrogant like that, they need a time-out and a fine. If they do it a second time, bootem out of TX.

Microsoft, have set bizarre profit goals and divisions are doing everything they can to meet them. The Xbox division (which handles all gaming for Microsoft) has a 30% profit target, for example, which means they are both squeezing customers extremely hard with price increases, and shutting down development

Many companies have the option of milking away customer goodwill and future R&D in order to have short-term profits, but eventually the truth has to come out. I suspect MS are playing AI Market Share Chicken with the other Big AI co's, as none wants to be the first to raise a white flag because then the investment spoils go to the others.

I otherwise wouldn't care, it would be their own problem, but the bursting of the bubble likely will take the entire economy with it.
