What's with that headline, Editor David? Ladybird is a non-profit, not a charity. Having IRS 501(c)(3) status makes an organization tax exempt, not necessarily a charity.

... with less time for meetings ...
So how is this a bad thing? What engineer wants to spend soul-sucking time in meetings (with managers, marketing, etc.).
Kennedy issued a 90-day stop-work order on Friday related to the HHS (Health and Human Services) contract with American biotech company Vaxart Inc., which is working to develop a new COVID-19 vaccine that can be taken orally. The stop-work order comes as 10,000 individuals were slated to begin clinical trials on Monday.
As for the reason for the work stoppage, Secretary Kennedy explained:
"While it is crucial that the Department [of] Health and Human Services (HHS) support pandemic preparedness, four years of the Biden administrationâ(TM)s failed oversight have made it necessary to review agreements for vaccine production, including Vaxartâ(TM)s," Kennedy said in comments provided to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
"I look forward to working with Vaxart and medical experts to ensure this work produces safe, effective, and fiscal-minded vaccine technology."
I have a nice fast computer that won't install W11. It functions as flawlessly as a Windows OS can, yet I'm supposed to abandon it. It'll be Linux soon.
You don't have to sail very far on the seven seas to find a non-TPM/Windows-10 solution. Why not install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021? Activate it with this script.
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 will be supported almost another 10 years.
The Atlantic got it wrong (and the Slashdot editor just went with it) but "C" is not the most important button. I don't know which button is, but the "1" button is more important that "C". A power cycle will substitute for a "C" button but you won't get far with a missing "1". "2". "3", "4", etc. are more important that "C" too.
> There seems to be no option to completely disable update checking.
Maybe there is; one of the methods listed here may (still) work:
I'm still blissfully running TB 102.15.1 (64-bit) with no upgrade nagging. "About Thunderbird" says "Updates disabled by your system administrator".
I just checked my TB distribution directory (Windows) and found a distribution directory with a policies.json file containing "DisableAppUpdate": true
Like you, I found the UI redesign terrible and am happy to wait for someone else to test version 128.
So those meatbags are astronauts now?
Improving my experience with regard to software would entail:
- lower purchase cost and lower cost of ownership
- less defects
- less frequent updates (ship finished code)
I'm pretty sure I'll never see any of these from TurboTax and H&R Block.
space is no longer a consideration for audio.
Space is not unlimited on my phone. Larger files take more time to transmit or back up. All of this costs me money.
Space is always a consideration, arguably just not as much as in the past.
