Sorry that HEIC is now ubiquitous.
Ubiquitous: existing or being everywhere at the same time; constantly encountered.
Windows: holds 76.36% of the worldwide desktop operating system market
HEIC on Windows: Microsoft Store HEVC Video Extension costs $0.99
Yeah, no. Yes, it's present on Apple devices. And admittedly there are about as many iPhones as Windows computers. But that's still half, and it's not the important half where actual work is generally done. It's the half where annoying people take pictures and send them to people that need to jump through hoops to do anything with them.
Yeah, I can't believe the level of bellyaching going on over such a small, but very effective, adjustment only twice a year.
Yeah, it's almost as bad as the level of bellyaching from those who insist we just have to do the stupidity.
What sort of argument is that? How could you possibly compare the holding up a mobile phone and using the camera in a restroom, with wearing unobtrusive glasses with a hidden camera?
There's a term for that misdirection you've attempted, is it straw man?
You're correct and I lack the mod points to surface your insight.
These are effectively concealed or hidden cameras, which is not the same thing, and that's why the described panic is fictional.
That said, I do think this is interesting overall because it's a question of how human society changes based on technology. We have rudimentary technology that taps the optic nerve in experimental stages to help with some types of blindness. Sooner or later that sort of thing will probably become routine and non-invasive. Maybe it's 50 years out, but odds are good - I think - that eventually people will be able to record everything they see and hear. It's just perfect memory plus the ability to share that memory. Well... I wonder how societies will adapt to that. Will people just wear disguises all the time? Will no-tell hotels become the norm? Will we all be so inundated with fake materials that embarrassing real materials won't shame us? Getting there will no doubt be painful, but I do find it interesting to ponder.
The longer the title, the less important the job.
