You are looking at it wrong. To eliminate the woketards you would have to eliminate the actors. The personality that makes up most actors is wholly left by nature. They're sensitive and aware of other people and their feelings, unlike most on the right, who are convinced they are the current center of the universe and correct with God's backing in all things.

What's so great about Teams again? It's improved over the years, sure, but it still isn't great. At least I can send people messages and correctly assume they actually receive them... usually. But then again I could do that with Google Talk 15 years ago. Why do we have to keep reinventing the wheel?

PaperWhite is a game changer. I can't stand reading the Kindle app on my phone, and my really nice PC monitor sucks too. PaperWhite is a different thing entirely. No eye strain; you can read it in the sunlight. You can read it in total dark. I honestly HATE Amazon, but I've been using KindleUnlimited as a library card for many years now. I've 3 kindles in 3 places. I picked up the Ericson Malazan Omnibus in hardback and it was so heavy, and the pages wouldn't stay turned, and I couldn't read it in the dark. That was the point at which I realized how fsck'n lazy I'd become.

That's pretty nice, actually. I recently bought a Kobo Clara and don't like it too much because it doesn't have any physical buttons. Kobo does have the Kobo Remote which they released last year, which is probably why Amazon is playing catch-up here. I occasionally still use my old Kindle 3 (the one with the keyboard) because I prefer the physical buttons to turn the page. The magnetic cover is actually appealing... although I doubt I'd want to go back into the Amazon ecosystem at this point. It's far too nice to read native epub without tedious conversion software on the Kobo.

Why is the FTC being directed to do the investigation? They're supposed to focus on anti-trust and consumer protection.

Are you seriously saying you don't see any need for consumer protection laws regarding AI services, or is this some kind of confused face trolling like a virtual Tucker Carlson?

No not at all but the FCC is not the straw pumpkin to be leading the way. This should be FBI/NSA led and criminal in nature. The other folks are correct though, it's all hype and talk, our Orange President is all for AI and he couldn't care less who else gets hurt in the pursuit.

That's like me reading a book and paying for based on how much I enjoyed it. I don't see publishers going for it. I guess it is better than the current alternative which is nothing for getting your entire catalog fed to an AI. I wish I could get away with what the AI's manage. Operating in total denial they have everything but aren't responsible for anything.
