we've not even seen a hint of AGI. I am sure the LLM's will get better and faster, but will they ever be intuitive ? Only if we allow private equity to run for profit prisons. We tried it in Arizona. It went badly. The federal government now runs our prisons because our state legislators will not pay for or hire Dr's in prisons. We allowed a company to run them. It's a for profit business, how much control can even the Aussie Nannie state want. Unless they can prove that curating the feed is "harmful" shouldn't the customers decide what they want by voting with their $$$/Presence ? Arguably the entire business hinges on algorithms and whether they can engage the client without adverse effects, or whether they can make more than the fines.

Why just the last 33 years ? Alcohol use has gone down in that period, surely we drink less than our drunken ancestors. Why the sudden spike in cancer ? Is it an ability to measure that has increased, or could it be that corporate liquor has begun using fillers and dyes that are having a detrimental effect on us, but providing a healthy profit for our corporate overlords ?
