There already are companies that try automated censorship with AI on comment sections, like OpenWeb--and they all suck on top of being biased! I'm not lumping liberals into anything, I said that "liberal media" was the classic complaint about the media and not that the MSM are "leftist" which is not remotely true. Anti-imperialism is a cornerstone of the left in the US in the 20th century, which is the context here based on what I was replying to--and yes, left and right do have meaning in that context. Again, leftist doesn't mean left-of-you, and the owners of these outlets do not prefer socialism, in fact they fought tooth and nail against the notion of single payer healthcare, or of getting rid of private health insurance when Sanders briefly floated that idea.
The truth is that any time these outlets perceive someone to the left of them (the DSA), they freak out and fearmonger about that target even harder in some cases than they even did with Trump.

The entire trend of "fact-checking" in media originated duriing Bush Jr. to rationalize invading Iraq, and it hasn't strayed far from its right-wing origins ever since. NewsGuard wants to hunt and peck low-hanging fruit so that it can "both-sides" away things like an active genocide. It is at one with the duplicitous nature of American MSM

The classic phrase is that there is a liberal bias to media. Tgat doesn't mean the MSM are "leftist". They actually hate any political expression that is anti-imperialist, look at how they trashed Sanders. Look at how afraid they are of the DSA or of
Abdul El-Sayed, who is not even associated with the DSA but is grouped with him in an attempt to smear both at once.

Leftism doesn't mean showing you interracial couples in ads and some pride flags.
