The take away from the article is that it is an expensive (to run) service with a small number of people using it. It only works for about half of the US states with simple tax situations.
The right way to do this is to greatly simplify the tax code so that most returns can be done on a simple 1 page form with little to no math so no software or SaaS is necessary to file.
Not that I am suggesting you go out and get them...
because they'll be bad at AI prompts and checking the AI generated code.
Good developers will create code better than AI because they understand the user requirements better than can be expressed in AI prompts. Plus they can see much further into the future and will write maintainable code that AI can't.
Whenever I get on a CS chat, my first request is "live agent please". Usually works. If I don't get one I hang up.
They just RIF and expect the survivors to keep up because now they have AI agents they can program to do the extra work. But regardless, they are doing extra work.
Quick search shows that Altice operates in 22 US states and they filed in Federal court. So my guess is they are looking at any pirates any where in the US.
I can type in queries faster than I can speak. And I can read faster than AI can provide an answer via text-to-speech.
The main advantage AI might provide is to enhance my query and to summarize and catalog query returns so I can find the exact information I need more quickly.
He better put his funeral in Outlook now if he wants anyone to attend.
Using AI in data science and such has it's place. But to use it for average business oriented activity like writing reports is not going to save time and labor. It just shifts the creative process to having to review everything AI generated to make sure it's accurate, i.e. it shifts the work load, not eliminate it.
If you want something automated, it's better to have some code it up so it's deterministic and can be maintained by people who know the business domain.
Saying we should call out the National Guard to quell the 2020 riots is "violent rhetoric"? That's a bit of a stretch. That's one of their missions, they train for it.
FYI, there's a few guys on YT that appear to be keeping up on every new ISO and reporting the latest work arounds.
That doesn't work anymore. It won't let you pass the network section. What is working is if you select join a domain. There you will see an option to make an offline account.
if the politicians wouldn't stop screwing around the tax laws to give breaks to their favored businesses, constituents, or pay masters or using taxes to enforce social policies.
If they aren't planning on taking these taxes on 'excessive' profits and using all the money (no skimming!) to build nuclear plants then it's just a scam to transfer wealth from oil corporations to government corporations. And ultimately all that money is coming from you, the individual consumer.
The absent ones are always at fault.
