      That's just nasty. You can barely get most people to wipe down the bench properly at regular gyms. Imagine all the skidmarks left behind at this one...

    Greg's OK because he's actually working out, but the other two groups are more of a nuisance as they reserve the bench/machine for hours at a time.

    Good thing THE GERBIL doesn't seem to dwell at our gym. :)

      I've come across most of them, and as for the ones I haven't come across, well... it's just as well. Especially that gerbil guy ;-)

      (Though I did see CULT GURU guy, white beard and all, at one point. That's creepy enough for me...)

      Hmm... I also noticed that SEXIST COOTIES-PHOBE [slashdot.org] was missing from the list hehehe...

      Tuxette... I think I pulled a bicep. My 'agony' after my last workout (friday) died off, but my right bicep is still in quite a bit of pain. Best to lay off the arm workout until everything feels alright?

        What are the actual symptoms? I'm assuming this pain is not the same as the soreness you get after a heavy workout...?
        • Its really sore, similar to the workout pain, but really painful when my arm is fully extended.

            Hmm... does it also hurt to make a fist? Do you have any bruising? Is there any significant swelling? Is it just the muscle or anyplace else (shoulders, forearm, etc) in addition?

            Anyway, I'm not really qualified to make any kind of diagnosis. It sounds like "simple" pulled muscle (as opposed to a tendon injury, which is much nastier), but again, if you want a proper diagnosis, go to someone who can do that ;-)

  • At the gym I used to go to, right in front of the Bench press machine there was a machine for working your butt. You pretty much were on all fours and then curled one leg back from the hip. Of course you were facing away from the bench press giving anyone on it a good show. The machine was used only by two groups of people, the local high school cheerleaders, and 45 year old hairy guys in way too small shorts.

    Either way it was very distracting.

      I'm all for the former (can't get arrested for looking can you?), the latter would cause me to gouge out my eyes.

      And on that subject, how come in the male locker rooms, why is it ALWAYS the huge, fat, hairy guys that want to prop one leg up on the sink counter to towel off while you are trying to shave? Not that I want any guy doing that mind you...
