Though sad in some ways to lose it, its having some great aspects, it's no longer really affordable. Good to see people smartening-up to that fact.

I survived one. It was all basically trumped-up. I actually (uncharacteristically) spaced on the first half of it (i.e. progress reports), and then toed the line for the second half. In the end it all just went away. Like I said, it was all basically trumped-up / i.e. "squeeze".

Cool to hear such promising developments with phages. First I heard from them was Mallory Smith's (film: "Salt in my Soul") battle with late stage (opportunistic infections) last ditch battle with cystic fibrosis. She was trying to for a what sound like a much more desperate phage "match" at the very end. Didn't quite arrive in time to make any kind of attempt, unfortunately.

Maybe the "catch" is (clickbait) for the slashdotter?

Seriously, my first gig was with an Israeli communications (billing) behemoth. At least where I was (initially), the technical culture seemed idyllic, though I was eventually happy to depart due to other factors. Technically, they highly valued innovation/ingenuity, intelligence, and quality. Note: by the time I got there, it was publicly traded and British held, but the essence of its origins still persisted. The Israelis themselves had a strong work ethic, and I wouldn't doubt the cultural degradation was in part owing to the increasing corporate and perhaps even the British (board) elements.

Yeah, I was thinking work invites are in a whole 'nother category, because those declines seem to make the inviters madder than shit! And, of course, you always got to love it when they put "required" in the Outlook notice.

In comparison to humans, kittens only cry (meow) to their parent, to get their attention. (And also, interestingly, adult cats only seem to cry to humans.) And the cat parent can shut them up in a hurry just with a look. Human babies, on the other hand, seem to cry as an emotional outlet, and often the parents seem to have little if any control over it. (A "just let them cry it out" attitude.) Not all evolutionary paths are advantageous.

Not the way I see it. Though we have long been told "time is money", imo time is everything, whereas money is (basically, or at least, in comparison) dogshit.

First, no way some adoptive family could be held responsible (retroactively) for her actions. They could only be presented with the option to "buy her off" (which is corruption to its very core).

And, lastly, the money could only be lost in the corrupt governmental morass, or, like I was saying, just be funneled back to the fleeced elites, whom I could really give a damn about.

That's textbook narcissism. The "fword-ing" narcissists always believe they are behaving justly and morally, even lovingly. It's that unbreachable self-love that empowers them to their heinous crimes.

I think she did emulate Jobs' style and mentality to a point, though, just except that he wasn't so monumentally stupid, nor, in fact, evil.

So, a person can actually come out and say the rich should be able to buy their way out of just punishment, and it gets upvoted? Am I missing something here? Or is this just a screen for a (general?) method to funnel some of the losses back to the (elite, in this case) investors?
