Comment Prompt Engineering pfft (Score 1) 75

"Prompt Engineering" never should have been a real job in the first place.

That's probably why it's going away.

Nothing has changed in the way prompts are used or given that would drive this except that it's not new and shiny anymore and people can't grift as much with and about it.

Most people now go, "Oh wow, you know how to prompt ChatGPT, welcome to 2023."

that's really it. they have zero care (the R party) for regular non-billionaire people. regular people need government. ultra rich are the ones who pay government to make laws that favor them.

I guess its not clear to everyone so it will be stated again: the R party is the robber baron party and they are not here to HELP anyone but themselves.

I just got the latest 15 yesterday and there are new text scaling bugs and they broke the Do Not Disturb tile. Battery drain jumped too.

Maybe they could take advantage of everybody being too broke to buy a phone and do a bug-fix release.

And breathe a little more.

P.S. There are only a dozen people outside of Silicone Valley who want a Gemini AI Phone.

They are in full denial. I know plenty of people (*) who are full on homeopathics, needles in the butts, ayurvedic massages, magic rocks, fancy diet fad of the day, to solve every ailment; but at the same time they are at the doctor every week for any transverse fart. But they'll *never* tell you they go to a doctor. Only when you meet them in the waiting room they'll stammer some sorry excuse for being there. (*) And yes they are mostly women, but men have many more faults on their own.

Submission + - Antarctica's Ice Sheet Grows for the First Time in Decades

RoccamOccam writes: Previous studies have consistently shown a long-term trend of mass loss, particularly in West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula, while glaciers in East Antarctica appeared relatively stable. However, a recent study led by Dr. Wang and Prof. Shen at Tongji University has found a surprising shift: between 2021 and 2023, the AIS experienced a record-breaking increase in overall mass.

Submission + - Protests erupt in China after furious workers demand back pay

RoccamOccam writes: Protests from furious factory workers in China demanding back pay are spreading across the country after President Trump’s tariffs on Chinese imports began impacting the communist nation’s economy.

Unrest has been reported across the country as workers have taken to the streets protesting unpaid wages and challenging unfair dismissals following the closures of factories squeezed by US tariffs, according to Radio Free Asia.

I see news reports linking to Twitter posts all day long but I think I've seen two Threads links ever and maybe last summer at that?

Is there a world in which these are relevant?

I'm not saying they're not but if they were super popular with Knitting Magazine I'd have no idea so I wonder who is using it.
