My solution is not the same. You seem to have missed the 'fixed' concept. As in 'no Daylight Saving adjustments'.

Outside workers will benefit more from dropping the adjustment ' they'd keep daylight in the middle of their work day instead of having it shifted towards evening.

You know what? We have artificial lighting and spend most of our time indoors anyway. Encourage broad spectrum home and office lighting and use UTC with a fixed local longitudinal adjustment.

They did a competent job of trotting out the nostalgia bits. I would even go so far as to say they did a better job of mixing cartoon physics with the real world than Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Space Jam. It felt like a real world movie with toons in it rather than a cartoon with real people in it.

Having said that, I had nobody to root for so it didn't engage me. The story did a poor job of making me care.

A good rule of thumb is 3m^2 of radiative area per kW,

Where did you get that from?
According to Stefan-Boltzmann , power is proportional to the 4th power of temperature, so temp matters very much. Even at 50C, you get 550W/m^2 radiation per side. That leaves a big margin for temp gradient from panel to GPU core. So I assume you numbers must be single sided, and based on a lower temperature?

Even so, that is less than the area of solar panels needed to generate the power. Total mass works out slightly more. The economics of space-based AI servers compared to earthly is dubious, especially as battery storage continues to drop in price.
But why are some people focussing on claiming some fundamental physics limit in cooling? Aside from the usual /. motive of wanting to sound smart, as far as I can tell they seem to be motivated by an emotional reaction to a person whose politics does not align with theirs. Tribalism can make people blind.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't believe SQL includes client data rendering. At least not any SQL implementation I've ever worked with. There's always a client that has to interpret SQL data and convert it into a rendered frame as well as send user input back to SQL as a query.

That would seem to be enough of a limitation to 'Doom on SQL' to make the total project... doomed from the start. It remains an interesting exercise in getting SQL to do the rest of it. As long as the code to do so is elegant, it doesn't really matter how Rube Goldberg it gets.

In fact, I might even be more impressed as the SQL gets more convoluted.

We went through the immigration process under K-1, then adjusted status to a permanent resident. No lawyer. Many people have done this and there is information out there how to do it, but it can be outdated, especially in the current era. There wasn't a great "here's the overall workflow" back when we did it, and their probably isn't now either.

The forms have instructions, and if you read carefully (together with all reference documents) it isn't too difficult. But I'm a contract guy, most people likely will have difficulty. It would be nice for them to have an official place to ask questions and have all the relevant forms and instructions considered together.

For a more "routine" example, the forms to apply for or renew a passport for a minor are a huge pain. Not all the required documents needed to be brought to an appointment (minor passports must be applied for in person) are listed in one list as of late last year. You have to go deeper into the state department website than you probably should have to. They should just fix all forms which are confusing or have incomplete instructions, but having generative AI assist the user is probably a lot faster to implement.
