We've already burnt all the easily accessible coal, oil and gas and mined all the easily accessible metal ores, so any society that arose from the ashes would almost certainly get stuck at pre-industrial revolution level because they be in a catch 22 situation - they'd need all the above to re-create the machines to mine/extract them.

Way to go on completely missing the point.

"And you say "perfectly possible" and yet sysvinit and other systems don't do it."

FFS. Perfectly possible to do it outside the init daemon. sysvinit wasn't designed to and never will do any of that - it starts the system and other than respawning dead system processes it gets TF out of the way which is how it should be. If you don't understand why then stay away from unix. Like I said, it sounds like Windows is more your thing.

An init system is not supposed to do security. This is something Poettering and you don't seem to get. Its perfectly possible to secure a system without systemd and just because you don't know how to do it doesn't mean it can't be done and wasn't done before the systemd dogs dinner was written. NOTHING you have mentioned should be done by init. I suggest you go look up the unix philosophy then get back to me. If you don't like it maybe you'd be better off with Windows.

Systemd has fuck all to do with security. Everything you mention can be done on an init based system and cgroups was around for years before systemd was farted out of poetterings arse.

China had a practice run at this a few years back when it blew up a satellite with a surface launched missile and the Russians would try the same if they had any competence left in their military. As for NK - Kim is all puff and bluster. Without chinese support NK would just be another bankrupt banana republic dictatorship and any sign that little fat man is getting too big for his boots and Beijing will quickly slap him down. Right now he's a useful proxy stick to poke the USA and chinas neighbours with.
