Elno promised he was going to get rid of all bots, and he knew exactly how to do that. On DAY ONE.
This has got to be fake news.
Yes, fake news written by a bot. Oh, wait...
Is it really a problem if kids watch porn? Are there any studies showing such correlation?
I understand the theory, and intellectually agree with your point. However I don't see the results the European approach is supposed to foster.
How much do you pay for internet in US? How much for mobile internet? Can you swap SIM card from different mobile providers into one phone? Do you need different USB chargers for different phones/devices?
This is Reno, and Nevada is at at-will employment state.
There is only a short list of protected classes it is illegal to discriminate over, and "where you live" is not one of them.
Either party can end an employment term for any reason (except discrimination) including no reason at all.
Either party can immediately execute the employment contracts termination clauses.
Either party can offer up terms of a brand new contract at any time as well, and of course both parties can choose to agree to it or not.
Given the details in the article, no laws have been broken here.
Wow, you really learned nothing from communist revolution of 1917. Prepare to relive our European past.
Well if that kind of pointless and malicious behavior is going on, then they're absolutely within their rights to yeet those kinds of clowns out of their system. This just seems like one of those situations where if they tune the selector a bit on the heavy-handed side, it could end up costing them more than it saves.
It's not pointless behavior. Those people wear those shoes, each pair every day. So in one month you wear 30 pairs and can return all of them with minimal signs of usage. And then you order next 30 pairs.
Luckily, with Plex, all it takes is that one friend that does know how and you can access their entire collection for free. At least until the media picks up on how popular it is and decides to force Plex to scan for pirated media. I know it's coming.
There will always be an alternative. I switched form Plex to Jellyfin for example. Got annoyed by Plex forcing payed content.
Arr, I know where ye can find yer shows without ye ads, matey!
That's exactly what I thought. This is also an answer for lack of syndication. To have access to every show on the market I would have to subscribe to dozens of streaming service. They really should create something like common coin to pay per show. If not I will just torrent what is missing from my subscribed platforms.
The question is whether this is actually true, or whether the present series of temperature spikes in a few areas is merely a coincidence.
The actual question is: are we, as a species, willing to risk doubting global warming, rather than do something about it?
There are two outcomes in the future:
Either it's not really Global Warming, and then we made some sacrifice for no good reason;
Or it IS Global Warming, but we ignored it like idiots and got fucked.
I would choose Option #1, thank you. I'd rather make some sacrifice and be proven wrong, than ignore it and be proven wrong.
It's not like that. You missed two important things: probabilities and costs. You could argue (hypothetically) that option 2 (there is GW) has very low probability but high costs and option 1 (there is no GW) has high probability and low (zero) costs. So logically you should choose option 1.
In real life you don't protect yourself from items falling from the sky by wearing hard hat because even if you can die from falling brick there is very low probability of this happening.
So, in case of global warming you need to take into consideration:
- how probable is that GW will happen
- what is a cost of preventing it
Some people think GW is not happening at all (probability is zero) or that it's independent of our actions. That leads to the conclusion that there is no reason to bare the costs of preventing it.
PS. I am not climate denier.

And how do you know I enjoy strawberries the same way you do? Because I told you so?
Pass is not a particularly secure password manager, and has quite significant security flaws under certain usage conditions. I would not recommend using it.
Could you elaborate? I discovered Pass thanks to this topic discussion and it looks tempting.
In an earlier story we have people paying 1.75% fees to buy a pre-filled debit card, and some comments say stores now ask for extra fee if you pay in cash.
How is this legal? In Europe we always pay the price on the sticker. Doesn't matter HOW you pay.
But I've yet to see any use case that isn't copying shit, gaming shit, abusing people, doing what people do cheaper and putting them out of a job or porn. Where are the cancer cures, personal assistants (that won't abuse you that is) and true self-driving cars?
You say it like a porn would be some bad thing.
Soooo this feature will not be very popular in India.
We used to have these "smart" traffic lights. The had a sensor that could tell when a car was getting near or waiting. The sensor could be in the road or mounted on the light (e.g. radar).
They were particularly good at intersections where one direction was much busier than the others. The busy one could get a permanent green, until someone was actually waiting at the other.
...and when nothing was coming from both directions it turned all green.
