Journal nizo's Journal: Behold! For I am the master of my underwear drawer 14
I am the master of my underwear drawer. Socks go in there too. And other random little things that I don't want to lose (like my checkbook for example). Nothing ever gets folded, and there is no reason to pair the socks, since they are all the same. My drawer has survived one marriage and who knows how many relationships; it is indeed the last bastion of my bachelorhood, and the ultimate incarnation of my lazy disorganization.
Sam's recent lamenting about not being a master of anything got me thinking; aside from my mastery of my underwear drawer, what am I good at? Aside from ending sentences with prepositions, I am good with computers (hardware, linux, some web stuff, etc). I don't really feel like a master, though I know enough to know where to look to get anything done that I need to (augggh not again). I have probably forgotten more computer stuff than most people will ever know (or need to know). I write well, and I am pretty good at problem solving; I often think of solutions that no one else does (which can be good or bad depending on how dumb my solution is
As for Sam, keep in mind I envy you the following:
- a degree in English; if I had any degree I would be happy, but an English degree means I would probably go be an editor or something (and probably hate it even worse than what I do now, but that is another topic). Regardless, don't discount what it took to get a damn degree.
- the ability to play an instrument well.
I am sure there is more, but I have already spent too much time on this journal entry already
So to carry on the theme, what do you do well?
