The general tactic is that (1) and (2) hire (3) to generate deceitful and inflammatory talking points, which are then disseminated by all-too-willing members of (4) and (5)."

I miss the days of George Will (former Republican), where he took principled stands on issues, was consistent, and did not degrade nor talk over his "perceived enemies". He respected everybody. I actually had a very difficult time refuting his arguments, and have an easy time refuting MAGA arguments. All I hear back from them is close mindlessness talking points, and they seem trained to just talk over other people like a brainwashed tape recorder.

I think 20 to 25 year ago things like this was the domain of NASA. They did set out to privatize their technology, and it worked. Now they should keep doing pure science missions, in my humble opinion. In a "perfect world". They should keep passing on the science to American Companies. It seems like a virtuous circle of government and private investment.

I wish we had built many more Nuclear plants in America too, and I am a Democrat. I am a Large "D" Democrat in the sense that I believe in many principles of the Democratic Party, and I am a small "d" democrat in the sense that I believe in democracy. Wishing and blame is different than doing hard work. Right now, right in front of us we can race to build a Wind, Solar, and Battery infrastructure that can sustain our energy needs into the future with little cost and work. Less than with Nuclear and Coal. Why piss that away? At least can you go for an "all of the above" approach to Energy?

Why can we as Americans not apply science to a problem? Everything becomes "fungible", the speed of light can be different in America, the gravity of earth can be different. All of this can be measured and predicted. Why not apply science to the cost of oil, nuclear, wind, and solar and come up with a single answer?

I agree with you.... in general, I think most of my problems are caused by inequality of wealth, the belief that a small minority of Billionaires control and direct society is bad for society, and the middle class. It is not because of a random trans person wins in a swimming race, the problem is wealth inequality. I am apparently in the minority in my belief.

It is untrue that everything that people does will "kill us". It is true that we as thinking beings should find a sustainable path. Wind and Solar is cheaper than Oil and Coal, and is a sustainable path. Why be stupid? Why deny that CO2 can be absorbed by water? I took a Chemistry class in College, did you?

Things seem simpler to me, MAGAs think that solar and wind is bad, oil is good. We are in an age where Wind and Solar are cheaper than oil and coal. I think that MAGAs are not only stupid, but almost evil. Removing CO2 from the air is a pipe dream that I think about, but the simpler thing is to put up windmills, and lay out solar panels.
