Comment Competing App Stores (Score 1) 8

Until 'stores' like F-Droid can do background securiity updates without rooting there's anticompetitive shenanigans afoot.

Apple already got the orders from EU - it's only a matter of time.

FTC/DoJ might do something stupid like force Google to spin off Android and then the same problem still exists but Android loses its revenue stream.

Tim Apple would probably like to see this. Google could be proactive and keep Android by being less controlling but I doubt they'll make such a smart play.

FDA was created to address fraud and improper labeling. Food and Cosmetics Act.

The Safteyism Regime popped up after a media psyop about Thalidomide in the 60's which was only ever marketed in Europe. To noone's surprise it cemented power and profit in the hands of the richest Pharma companies.

There are Type I and Type II errors in this field, both of which can be deadly. Finding the balance is the minimum requirement.

Prior to 2020, FDA's worship of Safetyism had delayed enough treatments to market that prevented lifesaving treatments that the net effect of FDA was 20 Million avoidable deaths.

That was three Hitlers' worth of killing before 2020. That number has increased substantially. That's not even counting things like statins with NNT > 700 and Diabetes causation at about 1 in 40.

It ain't right but Apple's App Store monopoly might just get broken up if they insist on moving manufacturing to India.

It's actually interesting because last year they were saying China was the only option because you can get every size screw any time day or night because China was so specialized.

Now India has all that? Nope, it was never true, supply chain logistics are sufficient.

You're calling Apple 'conservative' for not sharing profits with the workers in the country where they have the most direct employees?

Nobody thinks Apple is Conservative, except for that white 'power' logo they blazed for a couple decades.

Trump is investigating some folks.

It is ironic how the first time US receives foreign military aid since Lafayette everybody freaks out but they write such checks all day long.

Trump's appeals to Conservatism are mostly for show.

If there really are cellular modems in them, did they have SIM cards or eSIM's?

If so did they run the ICCID through the carriers and see who was paying to have them active?

Then follow the money. Any natsec investigator would have done these very basic steps.

Those would be in a real article.

If all of those lead to a PLA front group then we can call in to Houston with a problem. But probably Langley, not Houston.

I was thinking this could offer a cheap alternative that could compete with carbon fiber unibodies or monocoques. Maybe a spaceframe of Superwood tubes connected by 3d-printed titanium joints? Traditional spaceframes are only expensive due to the highly skilled welding labor needed to assemble them and the fact that the tubes are either individually hand-cut or machine-cut in small batches at most.
