Congress has exercised Inherent Contempt powers as recently as a hundred years ago but they turned the Congressional Jail into a speakeasy/conference room which roughly reflects their sense of duty.

Which, to your point, they now refer the DoJ to the DoJ for prosecution.

But also that illustrates why prior Congresses held the power to be essential.

It would have been grand if "The Dow, the Dow is over fifty thousand!" landed Bill Barbie in jail until she had time to think abour her duty to respond truthfully.

I've reminded Paul about his duty but they're all weak on such matters.

I use my gmail address to log into many apps, so they know my phone number. The problem is that some stranger with a similar name keeps using my gmail address to create accounts. So when I creating an account for a DoorDash pickup today, the app decided I was Elizabeth H, and my food was labeled Elizabeth H, and the guy at the counter argued that the old cis male in front of him didn't really look like an Elizabeth... I had the same problem with my Best Buy account, I can't use my gmail address to login to that because Elizabeth already has her account linked to my email address. Unfortunately, she hasn't left a credit card active for that account. One time someone no Etsy used my email address and was foolish enough to leave her credit card attached. So she received a surprise: poop soap delivered to her door! They thought self-check was going to eliminate thousands of jobs. Then they figured out that every 4 self-check registers requires 1 human employee to watch it and handle all the alerts it pops up. Pretty sure that one human employee could scan groceries 4 times faster than people doing it themselves, so those self-check registers are saving them... absolutely nothing. And they are seeing a lot more "shrinkage", although I'm not sure whether it is due to intentional or accidental failure to scan items. When I hear a beep, I assume the item scans. Turn out I can't tell the beep from the register I'm at from the beep of any of the adjacent registers... I now prefer human clerks to make it less likely to get arrested for a mistake.

There's no great solution that will always work. Some people do a dedicated Graphene phone and bury their seed stamped into titanium using a OTP in a forest an hour from home but for others there's a reason hardware wallets have market appeal.
