Many clocks can synchronize their time through radio signals. I own multiple Marathon clocks with large displays, placed near areas such as showers, where I don't normally use my phone. They are not alarm clocks, though, but there is no reason they couldn't be if the manufacturer chose to do so. Most importantly, these clocks don't need time to put together, or ongoing software updates, network connectivity, etc.

That's what Dolby Cinema theaters achieve, and those are amazing.

I believe my home theater with an Optoma UHD65 projector and 106" screen achieves about the same nits, but it doesn't look nearly as good as Dolby Cinema in terms of black level and colors. Certainly, the HDR on it is nothing to write home about. There is more to a good quality picture than just nits.

I used to have Roombas. Which were autocorrected to Roombad. I had 7 of them in my lifetime. They did a fairly poor job, often getting stuck, and requiring a lot of manual maintenance.

I redid 4000 sq ft of floors recently. I purchased 3 Narwal Freo - X Ultra, Z ultra, Z10 ultra. They almost never stop. And they mop. If one of my cats pees on the tile in the bathroom, it swallows it. The remaining Roombas were all dropped off at Goodwill last month.

Off the top of my head, the federal Defense of Marriage act of 1996 was repealed by the Respect for Marriage act or 2022.

Even though most of DOMA was previously found unconstitutional, repeal was a pretty big deal, given the current members of the US Supreme Court, and their disregard for precedent or standing.

Yes, the hub is local. However, it may or may not have direct access to the internet, thanks to firewall rules. Same goes for other IP connected devices. What i was alluding to is that you might struggle to provision Matter devices in this case. Whereas you could operate HA with zwave devices, and never have it, or your LAN, connected to the internet.

The Matter protocol may be open, but it cannot be said to be local-only. Initial device commissioning requires access to the DCL for attestation. As far as I know, there are not commercially available Matter devices you can setup without ever connecting them or your hub to the Internet.
