Who cares how many die, that's your problem. I also think it's naive to say that AI researchers "don't know" how modern AI, i.e. transformer models, work. They know, it's just impossible to predict results given the immense size of the models. What they don't know, because they don't care, is why models generate such catastrophic results at times. Once upon a time, AI research would consider this their highest priority, not anymore.

Sure, we might have not had 24/7/365 varieties , but the shelves were not anywhere close to being "empty".

We grew a lot move all over the US....we ate what was in season.....and nary a complaint was had as to "empty shelves"....

I generally don't have a problem with buying good/decent tasting produce.

I still do that today....I buy things in season that are grown locallly (or at least in the US).

I tend to not buy crap from other countries picked way ahead of ripeness in order to ship shit half way across the world.
