Packaging is more expensive because it has to make a place for the cable. No cable, cheaper packaging, smaller boxes, less weight. All this adds up.

I'd mod this up if I could. The extra middle men all have to be fed as well.

A world without Trump voters? Sign me up! Sounds like paradise! Only smart people allowed. Imagine a world in which 85 IQ persons simply did not exist. Collegial doesn't even begin to describe it.
It's not about "starve", they'll be allowed to live out their natural lifespans. One generation and out.
Zuck fell asleep at the wheel and made it a cesspool.
Zuck didn't fall asleep at the wheel. He was driving straight for the cesspool, wide awake, and on purpose from the beginning. Anyone who couldn't see where he was going was simply not looking.
We NEED social media in it's proper form.
I don't disagree, but if you want to supplant the public square with an online space, it needs to be decentralized and ideally should actually belong to the public.
something about cats?
This is absurd that they just let it drive away without a citation. When they licensed this company to start putting auto drive cars on public roads, did nobody ever ask what would happen if one violated a traffic law? The company needs to be penalized. In fact I'm sure there *is* a mechanism to penalize the company, but the police officer was just ignorant.
Agreed. Dropping a ticket in the driver's seat is kinda ridiculous, but there certainly should be a mechanism for recording infractions and penalizing the company.
Glad to see that
This makes no sense when you look at it. We are trading one foiegn power for another. Makes me wonder what the REAL reason for this change is.
To put a major social media company under the control of right wing political actors.
That evil guy Trump has the solution, created last Friday- $100,000 minimum application fee for new H-1bs
If Trump wants to make the $100,000 H-1b fee *extremely popular among techies*:
-$30,000 to an American worker laid off in the last 36 months for retraining funds and or job coaches
-$50,000 in a trust fund for the worker to be paid upon purchase of a return ticket when the visa expires, or alternatively, to pay for a conversion to an immigrant visa
-$15,000 to the revenue to help pay for INS/ICE and the bureaucrats to process the application
-$5,000 to a company that cancels an H-1b application to hire a US Citizen
