Debian mostly avoids untested things, which is another reason the systemd debacle was so weird, but I digress. They'll no doubt adopt it in the future once it's got some years under it, unless it turns out to have horrible problems. One good thing about Debian being volunteer-operated is that there's not too many maintainers who want to create more work for themselves just for the sake of newness.

"My family doesn't want to" is the argument I cannot refute. But it is a choice. And I'm not even down on the choice. It's called discretionary spending for a reason, and if that's where you choose to spend it you aren't making a bad choice. Just not a frugal one.

I'm really only pointing out that with a small amount of restraint you can have a wonderful palate of content for under $25 a month.

That's an impressive list of anti-features. I'll be sure to avoid it right away.

I use a Windows machine with 16GB and even when Windows claims much of it is free, it still chokes with a bunch of disk activity when I use little used functions even of applications I'm actively using. I conclude that Windows is paging even when it doesn't have to, and then having to reload those pages later. This is sloppy bullshit because they could copy those pages to disk and not actually reallocate until it's necessary.
