ABP is less and less effective, with pop-ups asking to disable the ad blocker everywhere.
I think that's a sign that it's working, not that it's ineffective. If it was ineffective then you would see ads even with it running.
You're calling education a scam? How do you figure? People wanting to be a lawyer or doctor or structural engineer, should, what, just kind of figure it out? Trial and error? Which professions in particular don't benefit from learning from someone more experienced than you?
It sure as hell does not have the right to steal from me to pay for the slackers at a party school.
Well it does if it votes for it, doesn't it? And you know why it might vote for it? Because maybe, just maybe, it wants to be competitive with China for the next century. That requires an educated and healthy workforce. It's how we got to where we are today. We built our country on the backs of educated and healthy people, and now people like you want everyone to fuck off because you got yours. That's the way to ruin the country.
Instead of trying to decide which individual degrees to pay off, let's do all of them.
Seriously, he's absolutely correct that education should be substantially free. The only way we're going to compete with China is with a healthy, educated work force.
Everything I write is lies, read between the lines.
I see what you're doing there.
The diamond squeezing thing makes a lot more sense. I was imagining a sealed cable that has an internal air pressure that high and was wondering how they'd do that.
If you're wrong, and you know you're wrong, but don't want to admit it, the easiest and most cowardly thing to do is just not reply. I understand.
Let me guess.
It's slowly starting to dawn on you that my first post in this thread was a parody of Republican talking points about things like universal healthcare (not the government's job! we're not a welfare state! pay your own way!).
You describe those statements as being hateful against the working class, and you're correct.
You're realizing that Republican policies like opposition to universal healthcare and trade tariffs are against the working class, and you're correct.
You're trying to rationalize small-government Republican conservatism against bailing out coal miners.
You're trying to figure out how to turn this around on me and say that it's actually liberals who are against the working class, but you're having a hard time with that one because you're finally realizing that I don't actually believe those statements that I initially wrote, that my post was a parody.
If you want to know what I believe personally, I think that the government should pay the necessary medical costs for all legal residents, and that government-funded universities should be substantially free to legal residents.
So, go ahead and tell me how much I hate the working class and how much I hate America.
It's clear in your comments, too. The working class can go fuck itself - is that how you treat members of the in-group?
OK, let me try to be a little more direct, because you're not really understanding what I'm asking. Please copy and paste the specific text that I wrote which would lead you to believe that I think that the working class can go fuck itself. I can't really get any more direct than that. If you're going to continue to claim that I believe something that I don't believe, then might as well just ask you to show your evidence.
You're a weird kind of troll, you just bust out with complete non-sequiturs. How do you figure that I hate America and the working class? Are you even responding to the right comments? Did you actually read anything I wrote or is your response already formulated? You have some wildly incorrect idea in your head about who I am and what I believe and you're responding to that instead of what I'm actually saying, maybe. I believe that's called a strawman, bud. You think that I'm The Other, so that's what you're trying to fight against.
It was the American Left that Otherized the Right, not the other way around.
Yeah yeah yeah, "it was Them, not Us!" A bit hypocritical. I suppose it doesn't particularly matter who fired the first shot if both sides are currently at war, does it? You're actively fighting against Them but for some reason you want to focus on how the fight started? Seems weird.
I mean, do you understand why it's funny that I interrupted your rant about how dumb it is to treat people like The Other, and then you immediately start treating me like The Other? Do you see why that's funny? I realize that my signature really makes it sound like I'm a Democrat, but it turns out I'm not actually a Democrat.
Anyway, have fun trying to claim the moral high ground, bud.
I've never fucked over the American working class in my life. Are you referring to Democrats? If so, how did Democrats fuck over the American working class? Did they do things like add a bunch of tariffs that cause businesses to pay more for the products they import, which results in them raising prices that their customers have to pay, with all of that money going to the government in the form of tariffs? If not, how else did they fuck over the American working class? I apologize, my long-term memory isn't great in my old age.
I'd call it sad and pathetic, the wealthy shitting all over the poor, but sadly it's what I've come to expect.
Yeah, it's the American way. The wealthy giving themselves tax breaks, requiring everyone to pay medical insurance companies which then deny peoples' claims, jacking up the cost of everything in healthcare. Welcome to America, bud.
But in the last election you realized you made one small mistake.
I didn't make a mistake, I voted for the person that I thought best represented me even though it wasn't one of the two absolutely awful candidates that were likely to win. That wasn't a mistake, I meant to do that.
Do you really think the Democrats realized the mistake
Of course not, if you want proof then wait until they nominate Biden. If the Democrats had good ideas then they would actually make an attempt to check executive power like they said they were going to do during the midterms. Instead there's an obviously corrupt president and an obviously corrupt attorney general being protected by obviously corrupt Republicans in Congress that, for some reason, have decided that the whole "protect and defend the Constitution" part of their oaths is really more of a guideline than a rule.
Or do you think they realized their mistake is they didn't destroy that base before they got rid of it?
I'm not what you might call politically savvy, but I have doubts that any major US political party is considering large-scale mass-murder as an election tactic.
You misunderstand me, friend. The opinion you read above is all about small-government conservatism. You know, the thing the Republican party claims to stand for in the event that they actually claim to stand for something. Glad you're with us, buddy. And, remember, say no to government handouts and socialism. We're a bootstrappy nation of bootstrappers just bootstrapping our way through life, and if you ever find yourself out of a job, just remember that it's not the government's responsibility to bail you out. That's only for the very wealthy, and that's not you.
Hey man, it's the responsibility of the individual to educate themselves and provide for themselves. That is not the state's responsibility. It is not the responsibility of the government to make sure that people are educated enough to get a decent-paying job. It is not the responsibility of the government to give people healthcare to deal with the perils of their chosen industry. It is not the responsibility of the government to coddle these people and hold their hands while they transition out of an industry that has been clearly and obviously dying for decades. They need to raise themselves up by their bootstraps to educate themselves so that they can get a job that gives them health insurance so that their treatment can get denied by someone sitting in an office building. It's the American way, and we have plenty of opioids ready to help them cope. Those downtrodden don't need to stay downtrodden, what they need to do is focus on not being poor any more. Because they have to provide everything for themselves. This is not a socialist country, this is not a welfare state, they should get zero government assistance. That's the freedom that they truly crave.
But the ones sho did set fire to the battery might well claim Apple was at fault, especially if Apple sold them a spare battery... understand?
And you're seriously trying to make the argument that Apple is doing this to protect the public and not to enforce their monopoly on repairing their own hardware and charging whatever they'd like to do it?
