The article talks about some specialist components. I assume these are ones that are high value and need special authorization to purchase. Like high-accuracy GPS chips or stuff for nuclear centrifuges etc.

Surely law enforcement can start going down the list of purchasers to see what is going on.

For consumer level stuff like Intel CPUs, or Nvidia GPUs, there probably is no real way to stop that. The volumes are just too high. But for low volume, high-value specialist components it should be possible to have some control.

Apple has had more than enough chances to voluntarily fix their anti competitive practices. Only after being fined heavily, they have reluctantly changed their policies where needed.

With that in mind, this is the way to deal with them. Fine them and make it unviable to behave in an anti-competitive manner.

Comment Sepsis deaths are on the rise too (Score 1) 49

Sure, but on the flip side people are dying of sepsis from common infections too.

Common factors like caffeine also can cause antibiotic resistance to develop.

There is still a lot of work to be done around this topic. Knee-jerk reactions like limiting antibiotics are not going to help
