I only kept my Prius Prime for less than a year and then I changed it for a model 3. The last drop for me was that the car would always start the gasoline engine in our cold Quebec's winter even if the battery was full and the car was exiting a heated garage.

Toyota should have given us an option to heat the car using the battery whatever the temperature is.

I had my Prius Prime for less than a year. Hated that I could not drive in pure electric in the Quebec's winter. Lost money selling it because it was too new. I then bought a Model 3 instead. Very happy now! :)

Based on my personal experience with my Model 3, I can say that a self-driving Tesla is still many many years down the road.

In fact, in our Canadian winter, I cannot see how it will ever be possible using only cameras...

That said, the day level 5 FSD cars are a reality in any weather, I would say that there won't be a need to buy cars anymore. Why buy a car to act as a taxi when you can just skip the buying part and pay per ride yourself ?

We could use a non-mining cryptocurrency like Credits. I agree that mining seems stupid. All the science that this processing power could help with and instead we waste it.

Here in Québec, with lots of hydroelectricity, I doubt very much that this gasoline engine will emit less CO2 per mile than an all electric vehicle.
