Journal Timex's Journal: I'm sorry... WHAT did you say? 10
I was reading an article this morning about bigger than expected turnout in protest to Congress' planned discussion on immigration law changes.
From the article:
"We construct your schools. We cook your food," rapper Jorge Ruiz said after performing at a Dallas rally that drew 1,500. "We are the motor of this nation, but people don't see us. Blacks and whites, they had their revolution. They had their Martin Luther King. Now it is time for us."
Sorry, Chuckles. There's a huge difference here. For starters, the Black people that fought for their civil rights in this country were citizens of this country.
Nobody that sneaks into this country illegally has any business whatsoever complaining about the legal system. If they don't like what happens here, they can go back where they came from.
To address the comment regarding the work that is done by illegal immigrants, I will simply say this: There are many people in the United States that will not do certain types of work. They have become spoiled by the lack of rigid enforcement of immigration law. They know that there are people that are here illegally, who will do the "dirty work", so they don't have to. "Dirty work" or not, it's honest work, and nothing to be ashamed of.
People want to come to this country? There are rules that have to be followed. If someone is not willing to follow immigration laws, there's no guarantee that that person will be willing to follow any of the other laws on the books.
There's a simple solution to this, though: we can invade Mexico and make it a state (or several states). That way, the only walls we have to build will be along the borders to Guatemala and Belize, which is a lot shorter (and presumably easier to monitor) than the current border with Mexico.
Looks like Tuesday has come early this week, folks.
