It would be much cheaper for Elon to build above ground. That is what he is saying, isn't it? It's a lot better for him to build his stuff above ground and move the cost of creating and maintaining tunnels to to public sector. Why pay for something out of your profits, when you can have taxes pay for it... solid thinking there.

If you care about any data that could be collected from your phone, you should probably consider not using a smartphone at all. It shouldn't be news to anyone at this point that all free apps collect and sell your data, to some degree. Also you should probably stay away from PCs and smart TVs.

Submission + - Linux LTS Kernels To Now Be Maintained For Six Years

An anonymous reader writes: In a bid to help Android smartphone vendors the Linux LTS (Long Term Support) kernels will now be maintained for a period of six years. The Linux LTS initiative backed by the Linux Foundation has supported annual LTS kernels for two years worth of updates, but that is being changed for Linux 4.4+ at the request of Google and their Project Treble. This means the Linux 4.4 LTS kernel will be maintained through 2022 and the upcoming Linux 4.14 LTS through 2023 for security/bug fixes in order to last a complete "device lifecycle."

I use Oister. Pay around $20 a month for unlimited talk + data + text in all of Scandinavia. It also includes 60GB data for internet sharing, and while that isn't enough for my monthly desktop use, it's very handy to have as a backup (faster than my wired connection).
