Comment what about the storage? (Score 1) 100

Sustainable generation is only half the story. To have parity with fossil fuel or nuclear fuel generated energy, there will also have to be cost-effective high capacity quickly recoverable energy storage, because that's what the fuels in fossil/nuclear fuel energy also provide. Stored energy, on tap / provided at will, and not just by accident like wind (if it blows) or solar (if it's not cloudy). Adding storage of energy into any equation drastically changes what makes the most sense.

The layering is half the story. The article should have emphasised the "well-fitting" part of the FFP2 design more.
A 94% effectively layered FFP2 that fits well over mouth AND nose,
is much better at stopping viral spread than a 95% effectively layered rectangular mask that leaves sides and occasionally, entire noses uncovered.

I'd not judge Lion Air or Ethiopian until it's clear whether the safety certification for the 737 Max was obtained WITH or WITHOUT the "optional" features on board. If it was WITH, then Boeing essentially sold an uncertified / incomplete product to those two airlines, probably without clearly telling them so.

Comment Remain? (Score 1) 286

Remain? ESA is sciencing rings around NASA in space, China and India have essentially caught up to nearly equal capability, American astronauts need to hitch a ride on a Russian Soyuz to get to the International Space Station and the one American company that still has some (impressive) launch capability is actually founded and led by a South African.
Methinks the US as an entity have some catching up to do when it comes to "Space Leadership". It's more of a committee of nations now.
