Samsung, too. . .bought a bunch of Galaxy phones, new-in-box, about 2 releases behind the then-current model. The charge port broke, and the vendor asked that I return it to them for warranty repair. Got it back in about a week, good as new. About six months later, but still inside my one-year warranty, it developed either a software or a hardware fault. Sent it back to Samsung for repair. After a six-month wait, got the phone back, unrepaired, with a letter saying that as Samsung didn't do the original fix (replacing a cracked socket) the entire warranty was void.

That was the last Samsung product I ever bought. . .

Yes, here in Ohio I've been noticing that the moon has been pink for most of the last week, even at relatively high elevations.

Yes but "relatively high elevation" in Ohio is not really high at all given that the highest point is 472m above sea level. I doubt tiny changes in elevation like that will have any effect on the amount of smoke. Here in Alberta, a lot closer to the BC fires, we have had smoke thick enough to noticeably reduce visibility over ~100m and which hit the top 10+ rating on our air-quality scale of arbitrary units. and we are at over 700m elevation. I suspect like clouds you'll need mountains of a few thousand metres to rise above it.

I rather suspect the original poster was referring to the degree of elevation of the Moon over the horizon. . . .

I suspect some wag will find a way to do something similar with SMS messages , and jam the systems through sheer bulk of messages to process . . . .

Well, let's start with ending 'baseline' spending, the process of seeing increased requests for a given service, and scoring the increased level of spending as 'no increase'.

Then we apply the O'Rourke Fiscal Circumcision Principle, and cut 10% off the top of ***all*** budget lines.

And we require "emergency" spending to have equal cuts from 'routine' spending.

In other words, budgeting the same way the rest of us have to do at home...

Good luck finding anyone willing to staff it. Hell, I'll bet they could go in with all the other "giants" and get a shared (empty) space.

They could always hire a bunch of "homeless" people off the street, and have them staff the offices.
