If DST were eliminated, the sun would rise at 4:15 am in Chicago in June.
Um, you do realize that there are other parts of the world where the sun rises at 4:15 am in June and parts where it rises even earlier? I live in one of them.
Somehow, we have managed to adapt to these weird circumstances with no problem at all. It's called "not living in the Tropics".
And if it is in space, powered by solar arrays, how do you turn off the Sun?
I must admit, I read the title and immediately thought "Car Wars".
Maybe. I read the summary (I know) and immediately thought: Microsoft have just discovered PHP.
You don't walk the streets much, do you? Observation will show you that most folk don't use their cellphones for making calls any more. In fact, I wonder if half of them don't even know that a cellphone can do that!
Of the rest, a good proportion have no idea how to use a cellphone to make or answer a call! I see people all the time: holding their cellphones horizontally to their ear, usually with the microphone end nearest, horizontally in front of their faces with either end closest to their mouths, people in speaker mode just shouting at their mystery gadget with little idea how it actually works. Even older folk who should know better do some of these dumb things.
On the other hand, you're right. I don't want to have a video call to a call center to be left watching an orchestra playing hold music.
Well, they've already got Teredo worms trying to squeeze their way through my firewall...
In the UK most copper lines are either in underground conduits, from which they can be pulled easily, or overhead from the last pole to the property.
Of course I live in one of the few estates where the lines were buried, because no poles were permitted, which means that I'm stuck with FTTC and then copper.
Sounds like malware, bro.
To me it sounds like Google's version of Clippy.
It's played at zero volume so the mic is not used anyway. RTFS, it is instead analyzing tiny differences in the hardware, not bouncing sound out and back in.
If you're going to do all that, what exactly was the point in having the cameras in the first place?
Is this going to dissolve off the wearer when it rains?
The service file is just a re-invention of JCL. That in itself might not have been a bad thing, but the way it was done stinks.
Very little thought was given to how such a program description file would be laid out and how the rest of the system would use it. Hence the mess.

The unreasonable costs are having to learn a whole new set of admin commands that could previously have been done with a line of Bash. When things go wrong I haven't got time for any of that nonsense. systemctl? journalctl? networkctl? The list goes on.
Not to mention the water has to be boiling, not just off the boil. What a barbarian!
