Comment Re:this is better [than what]? (Score 1) 81

Perhaps the best counterexample of your premise is the Unabomber. Yes, not on the Web--but I think that was half because of the timing and half because he understood the lack of real technology-based anonymity. But he tried quite hard to stay hidden. And died in prison..

Theodore Kaczynski was caught because of poor Operational Security (OPSEC). He let his ego get the better of him, delivering a 35,000 word manifesto and insisting that it be made public.

He was caught only because he thought he was smarter than everybody else, leaving clues with each bomb and in his manifesto. Ultimately the Washington Post's publication of his writings caught the eye of researchers, and more importantly, his younger brother David, who turned him in for the $1M reward.

Comment Re:Answer question headlines with (Score 1) 196

I'd argue that while you might be gaining something here (time) you could also losing something and that is expertise.

If you aren't reading the documentation yourself, then you aren't absorbing things that could be valuable later (even though they might not be relevant to the particular task you are doing now) and are therefore "stupider" at least by that definition.

All the time I'm involved in conversations where it is useful to have information in my head to either
- immediately answer a question (and avoid a follow up meeting), or
- prevent time being wasted on some course of action that isn't viable, or
- to suggest a neat solution I am aware of
all because of some detail I have read that hasn't previously mattered.

Of course, perhaps you are reading the documentation first, then pointing the AI at the relevant bits so it can complete some task and then reviewing the output for sanity, in which case I think you probably aren't losing out.

In the real world though I am seeing more and more information coming my way where it is pretty obvious that the person presenting it hasn't actually done their homework and doesn't really understand what they are proposing or working with.

Comment Fantastic Four is a FLOPBUSTER. M-She-U DISASTER (Score -1) 66

Saturday 45% DOWN - this is absolutely disastrous for a movie that has to make about $900-MILLION just to cover it's huge budget, including re-shoots (Disney lies about budgets), and Marketing, and theatres take half MORE than half, abroad. DISASTER. They made the woke Fantastic Four woke, and it's going broke. Another M-SHE-U disaster. And it has that creep Ped(r)o Pascal in it, too. EPIC FAIL.

Comment DEI. Universities == woke-Marxist. Degrees for DEI (Score -1, Troll) 112

University degrees are now awarded based on skin colour and other DEI measures. The degrees are worthless. Throw them in the bin. Also, courses teach political DEI nonsense, political correctness, and censor the truth. The corruption, and stupidity, is just horrific.

Comment Gunn's Superman is a FLOP! And really BAD REVIEWS (Score -1, Flamebait) 124

Gunn's Superman needs about $900M to break even. After $300M+ production, $200M marketing and cinemas' cuts of the ticket sale price. In China, cinemas keep 75% of ticket sales. and in the US, about half. EVEN WORSE, the word of mouth is between Meh, and, this is STUPID, woke (man-bashing) and horrible.

Comment Modern Art is WORSE than AI Art (Score -1, Troll) 33

THAT is why artists are out of business. Art college taught them to create crap. (Modern art). And AI can churn modern art out, or whatever ugly modern style artists create. and AI can do it at a prompt. So, all these artists who cannot draw and paint are totally expendable. And, it's the same with WOKE art. All those ads with ethnic people? AI can knock those out in seconds too. It's all worthless. Woke is junk. Art is dead.

Comment AI companies are RIPPING OFF Artists and Writers (Score 2, Insightful) 92

AI companies should pay for ALL data that they train on, unless that data is covered by a permissive licence. This means there should be a licencing system set up to pay Artists etc. This will actually allow them to train on more data in the future. Else, they'll be only training on AI slop into the future, as real artists go broke.
