I should add, it is kind of funny in a morbid way watching right wingers who have been voting to undermine democracy for 50 years in order to stick it to the libs finding out that you can't undermine democracy just for the libs.

I have watched several videos of local county level Town officials being screamed at by their constituents because they approved the data center. And they just let it wash over them because they know when election time comes it's going to be a choice between them and a Democrat and there is no way in hell those people are going to vote for a fucking Democrat.

You may have survived, presumably that's because no one thinks someone would masturbate to you.

Sidenote: a friend of mine has been shot, has a nice scar in her shoulder to prove it. She survived. Maybe we don't need laws against shooting people, after all everyone *I* know who has been shot survived.

What actually happened here?

No where, we go, assume a threat is real, investigate and let the legal system deal with the results. People seem to think that police work extends to just acting on a phone call and calling it a day, it doesn't. Arresting some people for something which turned out to be false isn't that much of an issue, unless the arrest itself is actually violent (e.g. SWATting)

In most countries in the world people are pre-emptively detained if there's an uncertain and unclear risk. They are then investigated and usually either released or detention extended within a day.

So far, the printing press is responsible for more deaths than AI.

The printing press was invented at a time when safety standards were virtually non-existent, a time where workers were largely expendable, and most products of the day ended up killing people in some way or another. If the printing press were invented in it original form today it would be outright instantly banned and the creator thrown in jail for gross negligence. Sam-Altman would statistically not be alive given he's now 6 years older than the average life expectancy of a person around the time the printing press was invented.

In modern times under modern workplace laws, printing press deaths are non-existent for all but the most seriously of stupid accidents.

But really I like the point you're making. AI doesn't have moral agency and it's use determines liability, that's your point right? So let's thrown Sam-Altman in jail. After all he ran a company that engaged in an active cyber attack against competitors, governments, and released a product to people with so few guardrails that they themselves can't seem to keep it under control.

Cops are dumb. This is on purpose. The job is extremely boring so they filter out more intelligent people because smart people get bored and leave the job after all that expensive training.

So flock rolls in and tells these cops who already aren't the sharpest tool in the shed how accurate and amazing their software is. So the cops just take it for granted and arrest anyone the software tells them to arrest.

I mean yeah we could hire smarter police but that would require a ton of police reform nobody is willing to do. It's just easier to get rid of the flock cameras and that's at least on the table.

You claim cars are superior while also writing about your car's poor reception. Cars have had horrendous reception compared to basic portables for about 25 years now thanks to sleek hidden antenna designs not at all tuned for AM. Precisely no one is mandating a wire wound dual band MW antenna here. Combined with the high frequency electronics of an EV and you're lucky to pickup anything at all. On the flip side your portable allows you to step outside of the car and actually get reception.

Also you're conflating an emergency plan with a nice to have. A working phone is also useful in an emergency. That doesn't mean there should be any consideration to having this be part of your plan or codified in any law.

That is short sighted for someone calling someone short sighted who thinks the other person is short sighted.
