Yep, it is like an insane cult that, without the members caring, has an end-goal of mass-suicide.
Yep, the fireworks will be spectacular. Quite deadly as well unless you are at a safe distance. Which probably would be at > 13'000km for this gigantic mess.
I'll point to how the UK wanted to invest in electricity production in Morocco in order to have a portion of that electricity shipped to the UK by undersea cables. That would have meant bringing jobs, education, and wealth to help Morocco with droughts. Then the politics got to be too much for the UK so they backed out. That's unfortunate, in my opinion at least, as that could have helped Moroccans so much.
I do not know what your "news" source is, but the actual reason was that producing renewable electiricity in the UK was found to be cheaper. That may have included some risk-costs.
Yep. The human race is defective like that. Still tribal, still no idea what is going on.
Everyone on twitter saying the 'n-word' or harassing trans people going to prison... That would fucking rule. The internet would be so much better.
And what about people who use the word 'fuck'? That offends a lot of people, and by your wishes YOU would be on your way to prison for what you just wrote. Is that really the world you want to live in?
Take your time. But not too much time, because you never when they'll come for YOU.
While I'm not offended by the word, constant use of the word "fuck" tells us about both the fuckutterer's personality and their inability to frame a cogent argument.
What really is fascinating in these China discussions is how instantly they get swamped with people trying to shift the discussion to how the US is worse, or general posts desperate to change the argument.
All that said, I need to get Amimojo's take on this.
That raises an interesting point. DVDs are encrypted, but for all intents and purposes are DRM-free these days because the code to decrypt them was released decades ago. Bluray is somewhere in the middle, the encryption being crackable but still needing some effort when a new disc with new keys is released.
From a right to repair standpoint, is it allowed to have some encryption that might prevent casual copying or cheating, but is also easily bypassed by repairers and archivists?
My first thought was that it is most likely an attempt to block exploits. The original Switch was exploited via flaws in external interfaces, so locking them down as much as possible is the obvious response.
