Comment Bold strategy! (Score 1) 151

Well, looks like a bold strategy for the director to be running his mouth kinda like Zegler did - will be interesting to see how much of a final nail in the coffin of terrible movies this one will be! The age of horribly written entertainment just needs to come to an end eventually.

Comment Dark Age of Technology (Score 1) 177

In w40k there is the idea of the dark age of technology, a time long ago from which all inventions and technology were made and left to the present day in the w40k universe. It is long ago, nobody understands how all these machines and technology actually work, they just use it, therefore they cannot invent anything new and can only maintain existing tech - badly, thru religion-like myths, dogma and insane rituals.

Sounds like we are getting front row seats to witness how our dark age of technology happens and dies, and all knowledge and actual understanding disappears.

Comment Holding up a mirror to human texts and literature (Score 1) 175

Quite interesting to see AI essentially holding up a mirror to the majority of human texts and literature: hollow, sycophantic BS that people just liked to read sometimes and now AI has all of this as the condensed foundation for philosophic babbling. No wonder people freak out when confronted with dense portions of all this garbage.

Remember, it is not AI, it is just sophisticated stealing of other peoples content.

Comment Malware on your grandma phone (Score 2) 40

This will be an absolute nightmare. If you thought people are careless and not savvy with their computers, the phone crowd is so infinitely much worse because phones are way more ubiquitous.
This will be the golden age of malware. I am not advocating for an Apple walled garden, but I do think from a pragmatic, realistic standpoint they had the right solution - lock it down; the average user cannot be trusted with their device.
And a warning banner is no solution, bad actors will just guide your grandma right through it.

Comment We need leaner, better websites (Score 3, Insightful) 40

There, I said it. We need way better and leaner websites without the unbelievable amounts of jank and bloat that has somehow become the sad normal nowadays.
I feel like I went from a slow aDSL in the 90s to gigabit and websites nowadays do not load any faster, because they bloated to the size of fully functional operating systems - and this will only get worse with more frameworks, wizards and vibecoding.

Comment Separate registrations and payment (Score 3, Insightful) 229

Before you fall over yourself to applaud these zones, you need to realize they have separate registration for such zones. For each one individually. For example letâ(TM)s take Belgium, you need to separately register for Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp. These are European cities of EU countries. A simple modern EU plate should be more than enough to indicate the emission levels. But they want to make extra money from tourists and poor people, and make life more fabulous for wealthy people. Fsck everything about these zones and especially how they are implemented. I am not even sure how this can be legal on a EU level.

Comment Has anyone ever used this? (Score 2) 62

I already found pinterest completely insufferable and they were the first to massively push for hostile content where you were forced to sign up to see a funny picture.

And then came pocket from Firefox. Anyone actually used this? And what for?

Comment Housing should have never become an investment for (Score 3, Insightful) 64

Housing should have never become an investment for hedge funds and other blood money, and greedy pseudo-investors making others pay for their pseudo-investments thru sites like airbnb. You are just running an illegal hotel and making life so much worse for the locals. Especially talking to the US Americans and especially the NYC and CA crowd, the vastly most over-privileged and overly entitled people on this planet.

Using airbnb has become pretty much insufferable as a customer any way.

I am sure Denmark wishes it could have as many amazing experts as the ones commenting here! Because surely Denmark made this decision on a whim and without involving anyone who knows anything.

Never forget: if it flies in the face of your preferred narrative, it clearly must be corruption and stupidity!
A nation like Denmark surely cannot be capable of making macro decisions! Not like you, the all knowing comment experts!
