  • I had a similar experience where a doctor said there "may" be a serious problem. Knowing we wanted kids and not wanting to take any changes, we starting trying right away. Clearly, the doctor was wrong as child number 2 is on the way now. This particular was a OB/Endocrinologist, so I think she just wanted to order some tests on out insurance tab to increase her revenue
    • Well, I am not sure about that for my wife. There are a couple things with her that increases difficulty in getting pregnant (as per information from multiple sources). Also, she's special when it comes to medical issues quite often.

Either way, God seems to want us to be parents at this point. We are looking forward to it, and she is looking forward to not being pregnant! Morning sickness for the loss. :-( Most things say that should start receeding around the end of the first trimester.
      • Congrats!

Supposedly my wife should have some fertility issues as well (PCOS), but we're still trying to figure out how to not have babies... pffft, doctors.
        • Dunno about PCOS, but for us the pill worked fine up until we wanted to start trying. Wait a month (cause we were told to) and tada!

I suppose God just wants you to have kids. ;-) There's a couple at our church who were absolutely told they could not have kids, and well, the doctors were wrong. Another couple where the guy had a vasectomey, evidently muffed that one up.
    • This information was in the email I sent to your hotmail account. I don't suppose you recieved it then?
      • No, I haven't received it yet. I might drop you a line from my "Bruce Wayne" email address as it'll be much more reliable.
      • in the mean time, for copy / paste goodness, use:

        rail_gunner@hotmail.com

Although, maybe hotmail is the problem? I seem to remember hotmail saying something about SenderID, though others have been able to email me without incident, as far as I know.

Your email isn't listed on your website, but I think I remember what it is. I'll send you one tonight, if nothing else you'll have a way to easily reply.

  • Very cool. Yes, the morning sickness does pretty much disappear at the end of the first trimester. At 9-10 weeks, that might already be starting. My wife (now ex-) was so sick with our second that she spent the Labor Day weekend in the hospital (she was about five weeks along at the time). IIRC, she was doing much better by the end of the month.

Good luck with the next seven months + 18 years. It's a beautiful journey. Not that they stop being your kids then, but seeing them fly on their own is wonderf
    • Thanks. She is really hoping morning sickness goes away at some point. Her sister and mom both had morning sickness most of the pregnancy for their firsts. And my mom for that matter (not that that would have much relation as far as I know). She has been doing a little better the last week or so though. Hopefully she'll only have to deal with the tiredness now.
  • Prayers said for the health of all. :-)

I'm glad the timing worked out well for you. Got the house established, time to grow it into the "family home". :-)

  • ....just wait until you try to get the kid(s) to sleep when they're older.

Because Youngest is (borderline) autistic, we (read: *I*) stay with them until he's asleep, then we can leave the room. Failure to do this means that he'll be up all hours of the night.

The problem is that the boys' room seems to be a Vorpal Tunnel of Energy Suckage. Whoever goes in there will invariably become severely drowsy, unless they are able to escape within five minutes. After 15 minutes, the Adult is nodding off, and all ho
    • Our neice is a character. She will bounce off me and her grandpa like we are giant toys. Even those who manage to avoid being the center of her attention are drained by this little girl. She seems to have an endless supply of enegy though.

She is wonderful though. Hopefully ours will be as fun, as while my folks may have wished an energetic child on me, I don't know how I'd do with someone too calm and settled. I am sure I'll regret writing those words somedays though.

If God had intended Man to program, we'd be born with serial I/O ports.

Working...
