I once worked with a guy who wrote an entire smallish HTML reporting and graphing application via one big single Oracle SQL statement. I'd hate to do maintenance on it, but it got the immediate job done.

But he's the Chosen One. Jesus Fox Christ says he's Special, so the rules don't apply to him. We muggles get shit
They are kissing up to Donny by letting him rename everything he farts on.
Execute it for spying on gov't.
No, they're already training it with its own dogfood. They don't need contractors for that, because they can do that themselves. They're just also paying people to add human data.
I thought it was US waste being our team who is monitoring it.
Exactly. That's all I've been doing lately. New Project, Start feeding Claude Code the notes. Build up the memory. Spec time comes, use him as a rubber duck, walking thru the whole process, we document everything first. I get a MD file, convert to a docx for the users, and submit. It's a good starting point, my ideas + boiler plate stuff from Claude. I could just give it to him to code out as well at this point, but I still need to go thru a review, and then there are contractors that need work....
So far this process has worked pretty well with me. There's still design in there. Like I'm the director telling the actors what we want, and then the giving the control over to them to interpret. What is nice though is I can ask if something is possible to do, and Claude can usually find out. It gives me starting options at least.
We've been doing that for years. AI allow you to fuck up much faster and more efficiently however.
Fuck Benjamin Netanyahu
Donnie already has, several times. And both liked it.
The worries are coming from every level within the companies, from junior developers to safety officers to the C-suite and board...also from people who left the companies.
It's possible for the stated high-level worries to be a combination of fear of rogue bots AND angry investors, and thus they got together to collude...I mean agree to a slowdown.
People seem to only have memory that goes back two years.
We went to war with Iraq due to faulty intel. No AI was involved at all, at least not in the modern sense of the term. Just a human expert hallucinating a bioweapons lab from a blurry photo.
Russia almost nuked us due to a faulty machine sending a false positive about a nuclear attack. Definitely not AI.
Just waiting for Rust#
And what does the language matter anyway when you can now type in pseudocode into Copilot and ask it to form perfect equivalent code in any language?
If the toaster has good brownness and heat-bounce sensors, I'm not sure AI is needed: just turn up or down the heat cells where needed to keep it even. Statistical analysis may be needed to manage adjacent cells, but once the formulas are known via lab testing it should be predictable.
