Comment Soon to become an infrastructure problem. (Score 1) 54

So besides shortages of electricity along with high rates. Now our internet service hardware will suffer shortages and high costs. If I didn't know any better I would think the AI companies hoarding hardware manufacturing is a threat to basic utility service. Yes Internet is now a utility as it has become hard to fully function without internet access.

That human was not clueless. It was intentional. No one sends a bot off without checking on it's progress when it requires all that money outlay (subscriptions) to run the bot. They either saw it and decided to do nothing or directed the bot to act this way - either way they are at least complicit.

Comment Just an automated attack dog. (Score 2) 80

There are enough people that are not nice that it matters. AI makes it a big problem because those with bad or vengeful intentions can just set AI and forget it. And since an automated bot with no name is hard to track this problem will only grow.

The future of the internet is small walled-off local-like gardens, sort of like small town culture where all outsiders are heavily scrutinized and not trusted. AI will just get us there faster.

What happened is the efficiency of home heating with a heat pump promised to be cheap to run when comparing overall costs to fossil fuels. Then the price of electricity nearly doubled overnight. Now people are stuck with an expensive heat pump and high electricity rates. Anyone hoodwinked into using only resistive element heat as the backup to the heat pump is now seeing a $$$$$$$$$$$$$ bill.

Comment I'm still trying to figure out. (Score 1) 23

Why I should care. I mean can't someone just vibe code up another Wordpress at this point? Or if the current maintainer is just that bad fork it, and use a new logo (but trademark the new logo anyway so some new asswipe doesn't try to rent seek on the new logo).

Comment Re: 'reversed the transactions.' someone explain. (Score 1) 67

The moment an individual bitcoin transaction became too expensive was the day bitcoin failed. These brokers or exchanges are just propping up a failed system. By failed I mean the underlying system was no longer usable as intended. Bitcoin was not supposed to be only used as a central bank between smaller banks/exchanges. It was supposed to be the sole transaction system.
