Now instead of China getting all the tiktok data a mostly bunch of evil companies now get access to that data. Is this really winning?

A real win would have been an outright ban and shutdown.

Credits card companies already solved this. The money comes from those high swipe fees and credit card rates; in other words we all pay into recovering funds that are stolen or lost to fraud.

I would rather we punish the thief but they can be hard to find in a global economy, plus once you catch them no one wants any harm to come to them as we are 'civilized.'

Or maybe even a security... Or does cryptocurrency now want to be a bank? Do they even know what they want to be at this point?

That's the end goal here. Basically a terminal for consuming the internet that stores all of your data on the cloud, er I mean central server (please tell me the term cloud is dead).

The human brain takes way less energy than that. Find another fucking way to do AI. At this point every AI query undoes the benefits of one LED lightbulb ffs.

It will click on the ads for you. I've seen the internet. It's just a host for advertisements, right?

You give current AI way too much credit for even being close to anything like an imagination. It can't even regurgitate facts most of the time.

Their algorithms are just not capable.

Ok sure, it can 'connect the dots' very well sometimes - that can be useful for solving an existing problem. But it still can't be trusted to explain the solution. Or that it will find it more than once and the rest of the results will be useless or plain wrong; this is what you get trying to use a random number generator to simulate intelligence.

It can only do copies or regurgitation.

Using AI to create anything labeled new should be banned in most professions. The best AI can do is simple fact checking, where it flags questionable content for human review.

In all other instances current AI is only good for entertainment purposes.

Sharp edges are a no-no for most coatings. Anodization, paint, wood finish WILL all chip off if you don't give that sharp corner a radius. Even the base materials are weak there if there is no radius to ease the attack surface.

But there are indications at Walmart that society is in decline, if you want to know what kind of neighborhood you are entering just visit the local Walmart and take notice of what is now behind locked doors. Locally it is baby food and spray paint, but 50 miles north it includes underwear!

Delivery was never a core competency for Walmart. If they can do that cheaper while using Amazon that's fine.

Their core competency is still the retail stores. Just watch whatever Target is doing and do the opposite and Walmart will be fine.
