yeah - this is more extreme than anything I can remember from the past. There are people that moved on that blew gaskets over a lot less than this - so I guess it's good for their health that they moved on.

I am struggling to find some things right now. And buttons that ought to be in one place are in another that doesn't make a lot of sense. This ought to be taking place in a test environment because it's not ready for production yet.

  • is the slashdot staff obn crack, or what? Jesus H. Christ, that's pathetic and useless. Where is my list of comments I've made, with its #s of answered comments and mod scores?

Where's the list of submitted stories? All it has is journal entries! Sucky, useless, and BUTT UGLY.

Anybody know of a good nerd site? I'm thinking slashdot might have jumped the shark. Slashdot EDITORS, PUT DOWN THE LSD (or is that LDS, Captain?) AND GIVE US OUR SLASHDOT BACK!

    • I'm thinking slashdot might have jumped the shark

Hey! I'm innocent on that one! ;-)

    • I think Slashdot may have jumped the shark when Commander Taco first mentioned the term "Web 2.0" with the word "Slashdot". I'll ride it out for now and see what happens. When they first started requiring Javascript to be enabled for metamoderating I abruptly stopped meta moderating. Web 2.0 is fine, but there should be some amount of choice involved. Though I'm waiting for the day when Slashdot becomes completely Flash based with animated avatars :P

That was one thing I used to really like about slashdot - they didn't follow silly trends and fads. Now they apparently feel they must. I fear they'll Idle-ize the entire site.

I just don't get why that take a thoroughly USEABLE interface and make it more complicated (not complex -- complicated) and far less useable.

You can still get your list of comments here [slashdot.org], and submissions here [slashdot.org].

I do agree that it is hideous and generally sucks.

  • So did stoolpigeon [slashdot.org]....
  • The changes to the site are absolutely fantastic. I am astonished at the amazing skill of Slashdot's Perl team in putting this site together. Pudge really has done an amazing job this time. I salute him!

    • Pudge really has done an amazing job this time

Yes, he deserves some time off, he has clearly been working hard. Maybe he will be so kind as to share some of his opinions on the state of US politics with us?

Although with all the code testing that he must have done, he probably hasn't even had the time to pay attention to what has happened politically over the past several months - hopefully someone can get him up to speed!

    • Is the problem Perl, or CSS?

Or.. Is the CSS generated by Perl? Anyway: SUCKAGE!
