I don't run Linux on the desktop, but I do run a desktop on linux. Currently, I use XFCE, with a tendency to drift back to FVWM and a mishmash of hand rolled utilities for it. Linux hasn't failed for the home user, but many desktops have indeed shit the bed over the years. Looking at you, Gnome3.

I've been running linix on my C720P for years. I have separate partitions. I have it in dev mode, and use the ctrl-l legacy boot to start it up. I've never heard of "campfire". I'm posting this on it right now, in fact. This is my go-to everyday machine. I use it in chromeOS mode for word processing at work, and I boot into linux for dev work and other fun stuff, the rest of the time. This better fucking not disappear in a future ChromeOS update.
