We have bubonic plague infections every year in the United States. Very, very few, admittedly, but it's not like it's been eradicated. So there's still benefit in studying it.

The SF Democratic machine is all in on Flock [missionlocal.org]. That might have something to do with the Flock being in the SF Democratic Party.
The more I hear about this so-called "SF Democratic Party," the more I'm convinced they don't speak for the majority of SF voters. Seriously. They seem to be some strange, centrist organization that no voters belong to and nobody knows where they get their money from.
It is well fucking known that iPhone Safari does smart quote "correction", changing normal ' and " to the curly quote equivalents without being asked. It is also well fucking known that Slashdot textboxes do not take Unicode input. And now you know, and I know further that you don't care to learn these facts that have been known well over a decade in the Slashdot community. So okay, I'll accept that you didn't know and didn't mean to send garbage punctuation.
But Unicode does not belong on Slashdot comments, and that fact won't recede from your ignorance.
And you just did it again:
> I typed directly into the websiteâ(TM)s text box from my iPhone. I have no idea why Slashdot mangled it, you incorrect and ignorant weirdo.
> This is the kind of âoedevelopersâ who are consuming 90% of the worlds computing resources.
And you are evidently the kind of API developer who pastes Unicode into Slashdot comments because you care more about what you see on your screen than what you're sending to the server.
Its reply to me:
"Yes, in large part."
But that is mostly caused by NVidia's lackluster driver support in Linux.
Uh, sure.
Governments are people.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just did it the easy way - dropped out of university, eventually move to Montreal where it was almost *difficult* to be a programmer and not end up at a game studio. Thankfully the industry grew in Toronto as well and I was able to move back after some lovely years there.
I'm an oldhead programmer (still) in the games industry. You're thinking of DigiPen. (I didn't go there.)

How is this not an indictment on America's ability not to raise incredibly dumb voters? I mean
"We need to call it Super Intelligence!" Trump demanded, waggling a finger at an iPod.
Lol, this is the president some people are willing to tolerate for a party that promises you'll have lower taxes (while only giving them to the upper class) and less thinking about trans people or something. Communism! Boo! It's quite astounding.
It's actually very funny. There's a reason word of mouth has been doing the heavy lifting for this.
"No, I grew up in the 80s watching the roadrunner"
The connotation that the roadrunner in the 80s was original is hilarious.
