    A must communication tool

    Date: May 23 2020

Summary: Overall, Slack is a great software for team management and collaboration. You can easily manage multiple teams/projects on it and share files with other team members. It is a cross-platform software that means you can use it from any platform and from anywhere.

Positive: I love Slack and have been using it for almost 1 year. It is easy to use and simple. Slack makes team communication easy for you. It gives you features to make different channels for different teams. I am a freelance software engineer so I need to use many tools like Jira, Drive, and Calendar, Slack performs a key role here because it has a feature to add all these extensions. I can easily access them from a single platform named Slack.

Negative: I don't have anything to write as a con about Slack. It is great software and I don't face any problem with it yet.

    Tool for communication between teams

    Date: Apr 11 2020

Summary: Overall Slack is a great communication tool and in my company we've been using it as the main communication tool for a long time.

Positive: Slack is a communication tool for teams. You can create different channels for different teams, projects, and it is very good. Categories, different type of processes in different channels, keep conversations restricted with respect to channels.

Negative: I would suggest that search bar needs some improvements.

    Slack

    Edited: Apr 12 2020

Summary: Totally, the interface seems good. It is available for various operating systems including Linux. Good if we know how to use it.
For beginners its little bit hard to understand.

Positive: It's a good platform for messaging for those who already know about threads and all. We can create different threads to talk about different topics separately.

Negative: Threads became more confusing for me as I was using the software fo the first time. I even missed my online course deadlines and some other activities due to this confusion.

    My opinion on Slack

    Edited: Apr 08 2020

Summary: For experienced users, it is a good platform. Only the new users would face the problem of understanding it.

Positive: A good platform for instant messaging only if you are a lot familiar with the platform. Works on different platforms.
Topics or discussions can be created using threads. Each thread can hold a different topic.

Negative: It's quite messy. For a beginner, Slack appears to be chaos. I had even missed an online course deadline for the first time I joined slack.

    Not really impressed

    Date: Nov 05 2020

Summary: Overall there are much better apps available in the market which can serve much better features than this.

    Positive: Easy to use.
    Multi Platform.
    Also has web interface.
    Have integration with other apps.
Can be mainly used for texting purposes.

Negative: A little bit disorganised. And I think yes you can get much better app below this price range and are well managed.

    A good platform for communication

    Date: May 25 2020

Summary: Overall, it is a great app to use for group communication especially right now when COVID-19 is keeping us from reaching out to our friends or fellow workers but still, it doesn't offer much in a unique perspective if compared to the other available platforms.

Positive: Slack is one of those applications which can be useful for group communications. Be it for school or for professional use, Slack offers a lot of features for people to use. You can communicate with others freely as well as send pictures and attachments.

Negative: What I didn't like about Slack is that there are much better alternatives out there. It is just the same platform if you compare it to other communication platforms. It doesn't stand out in the vast array of alternatives available to the public.

Lots of people love it and use it everyday, not right for me.

    Date: Apr 06 2020

Summary: My previous company used this for day to day communication so everyone could chat independent of any specific medium but I never really got into it. Maybe they have come a long way since then but it wasn't right for me. Lots of my team members loved it though.

Positive: Device agnostic is a bonus and for people who use lots of different communication mediums it is ideal.

Negative: Just another chat to monitor and mostly duplicates of things you need to read elsewhere and with more features elsewhere.
