Summary: Overall, no big complaints. It works well with the tie-in to our accounting software which is the most important factor for me.
Positive: Great at keeping information easy to access. Information is laid out well within the platform. Timecard system is also a benefit.
Negative: Reporting is a little tricky. Some limitations with benefits processes.

Robust Payroll and HR System Date: Dec 01 2023
Summary: Overall, the system gives us what we need to be able to maneuver a relatively complicated set of rules for our non-profit staff. Customer support is very responsive and helpful. Top notch!
Positive: The system is very robust and gives HR a single place to house all related activities. Payroll processing is very efficient.
Negative: I would like to have the ability to void checks that were misprinted myself without an additional charge.

Summary: I really like APS. I find new things daily that I didn't know it could do. WE are starting 2 more businesses and using APS for all of them.
Positive: User friendly.
Quick response from Customer service with questions.

Summary: Its is definitely a good payroll software in the market, but could be better. We have had it for almost 5+ years with no major complaints.
Positive: It is one of the easiest payroll software to use for a small group. Customer Service is always prompt and assist you with any questions or concerns in a timely manner.
Negative: Pay Batch reporting feature could definitely improve. The inability to pull employment status column for each employee while processing a payroll batch can be tricky if you have 2 employees with the same name.

Summary: Probably better solutions exist. Will go elsewhere probably when we consider investigating newer solutions in the future.
Positive: Largely intuitive. Fairly responsive to commands. Does not require installation of a client application to interact with server. Administrator and Manager interfaces are still built "desktop first" rather than assuming everything is a swipe on a mobile device.
Negative: Does not support any API access with third party labor collection systems.

Not US distributed - when their servers in Louisiana go down - like during hurricanes in a state that has them occur regularly - their entire system goes down. Inability to create scorecard systems for attendance that match our (fairly normal) policy.APS Payroll Company Response -

Summary: Dependable, but not feature rich or very user friendly. The employee mobile app leaves a lot to be desired.
Positive: Partners with our accounting software, R365. Dependably processes payroll each week. Like the employee document storage feature.
Negative: Does not partner with our scheduling/time clock/POS software, Toast. Reporting feature is difficult to use. Customer support is not the best.

Summary: As much as I'd love to give this product a higher score, I fear I am not utilizing it's features to its full potential and often find myself overwhelmed.
Positive: I love the multitude of capabilities that APS offers. It's organized and provides a vast array of features so we can customize payroll processes and employee information to our needs. We take full advantage of the support ticket feature and appreciate the prompt response.
Negative: I often refer to APS as a spaceship. Knowing the vast capabilities, we are often left wondering if we even utilize the features to their full potential. We find ourselves overwhelmed and end up drafting our own spreadsheets manually to pull the data we need in the way we need it.

Summary: I would say that APS allows our company to do what we need to do, however, if there was an extra boost in customer service and the ability for APS to compete with larger providers with more robust reporting / benefits needs, it would take APS to the next level.
Positive: Lots of functionality and customizability allows the APS product to compete with other payroll providers.
Negative: Support can be slow in responding and sometimes it feels as though you are on an island if you have an urgent payroll issue.

Summary: Overall APS is pretty good. It is easy to use and you can email support or get someone on a chat quickly for easy questions.
Positive: User friendly, easy to get tasks completed.
Customer service always seems friendly and ready to help.Negative: Problem solving and getting questions answers is not the most efficient. I have a problem that has been going on for 2 months and still do not have it resolved. It is causing a lot of extra work on my part, which is frustrating. When they are working on a problem resolution sometime the communication is great.

Summary: I like APS in general but I do think there could be more coordination across the platform, or at least alerts when coordination is not available.
Positive: Reports are good, ability to allocate salaries and export the payroll entry is a big time saver. The interface is user friendly.
Negative: The system is not very coordinated / there are not alerts provided for the chain reaction that a change in one area causes in other areas. For instance, updating the base department for an employee requires admin to populate an additional pay rate for hourly employees for the new base department. This has caused us payroll issues in the past.

Positive: Darl from implementation was very helpful. Best person on their team. The grid system to process payroll is easy.
Negative: Sales team is not in alignment with what the product actually does. Very disappointed we were promised several things that are not features.
