I don't believe much thought goes into making equipment resilient. I suffered equipment damage from a nearby lightning strike. Two PoE VoIP phones lost their boot memory. The utility meter had SPD type 1, the load center SPD type 2, and the PoE power was on a UPS. I suspect that the damage entered via the Cat 5E Ethernet cables.

Just use login.gov with a Yubikey and forget id.me. Has anyone had success using login.gov with an old Social Security account? The help line only says to continue to use the legacy user id and password on old accounts. There doesn’t appear to be any way to transition to login.gov.

Iâ(TM)ve seen problems with traffic circles in both Indiana and Florida. In both places, Iâ(TM)ve seen people go the wrong direction around the circle even though the entrance lane curves in the correct direction. In Indiana, the landscaping and one way sign in the middle seems to get damaged on weekends where a driver goes into the middle instead of around the circle (DUI?). This also happens with snow and ice. Now in Florida, just last week, a driver stopped at the entrance to a circle with their left turn signal activated. They turned left and headed towards oncoming traffic. The one way sign in front of their nose and lots of honking didnâ(TM)t help. Iâ(TM)ve had several near misses on two lane circles. The outer lane should take the first exit to the right or take the second exit to continue on the original road. The inside lane should only take the second or the third exit. A great number of people try to take the third exit while in the outer lane. This creates a conflict/near miss situation where a driver in the inner lane wants to take the second exit and they cross paths. The inner lane transitions the driver to the outer lane for the third exit. The only way to avoid a collision is to ignore the transition markings and stay in the inner lane for another lap around the circle. The circles are well marked but that doesnâ(TM)t seem to help.
