You've obviously missed the whole point of the Wordpress nonsense going on... it all started about the trademark.

Instead of just replying to a Wordpress post by saying "Oh Drupal is better"... read, digest, learn.

Before saying things like that, take a look at what PHP is *actually* like today. It's 2024, not 2004. Things change...

The "PHP a fractal of bad design" is 12 years old... the PHP engine has been revamped so much that that document reads very much as a joke now. Yet ignorant people keep pointing to it...

Don't blame incompetence of the software engineers and system administrators on the language. There are plenty of tools (such as PHPCompatibility and Rector) that help update code so it is compatible with newer versions of PHP.

Right the comment right above yours. The creator of Wordle violated copyright himself, so NYT has no rights to this at all.

I would like a hard disk activity light back on my laptop as well. Bothers me that I can't tell when the disk is active. Don't care if it's an SSD and it's supposedly very fast, if you're dealing with 50GByte files, you want to know the system is still active. And starting task manager or top isn't as quick as seeing a light flicker...

That technology has been around for ages... so this is not news that matters...

Either it's a slow news day or someone forgot that Slashdot's tagline is "News for nerds, stuff that matters" - this doesn't really seem like neither... they're still finding soldiers of WW 1 and 2 on a daily basis... that doesn't belong here either...

Sadly converting plastic into monomers isn't a solution either, since monomers can cause serious issues. And given they are smaller than microplastics, they can get into and stay in the foodchain even easier. This means our body won't have the microplastics anymore, it'll have to deal with much more monomers, which can cause a wide variety of things.
As usual, this is trying to fix a problem that should be addressed not by fixing the outcome but by fixing the production process.
