Telus, Canada's second-largest telecommunications carrier has decided to start selling pornography to its cellular subscribers. The service will allow subscribers with mobile browsers to purchase both photographic and video adult-oriented content from Telus. Telus decided to introduce the service after noticing that there existed a certain "segment of the population that is interested in that content" from review of the mobile web browsing habits of their subscribers. They are the first telecommunications company in Canada to offer such content.

Hollywood is blaming Canada as being the source for at least 50% of of the world's pirated movies. According to an investigation by Twentieth Century Fox, most of the recording is taking place in Montreal theatres where films are released in both English and French. This has led to consideration of delaying movie releases in Canada.

Identity thieves in Canada have begun targeting the homes of their victims. Recently, several cases of mortgage and title fraud involving identity theft where several individuals have had thier houses sold without their knowledge. Ontario's land-registry system does not currenlty protect homeowners from such fraud, but instead favours banks, mortgage companies, and purchasers. The provincial government is however working to solve the problem.
