Once car fleet hit 15%, gas stations will start disappearing and concentrate to the highways and mayor cities. In rural areas people will go more and more electric as they need to drive further and further to a gas station. Who want to drive to the neighbouring town just to fill up on gas?

After that it is only a matter of time before the last gas station in the country go belly up. Walmart will still sell it in canisters for 5x-10x current price, but there will not be any economy propping up large refineries any more.

All this will happen within 15 years from the 5% EV sales figure. So, buying a new ICE vehicle today is simply stupid, you are getting the junk value and that is it once you are done with it.

The reason Tesla will not build a regular EV below 30k, is for the same reason Apple will not release an iPhone below $400. There are just too many customers buying their more expensive products, there really is no need to go lower.
