Coooooooooooooooooooooooooool !!!! It will certainly satisfy the modern people who delve into it. But it is not as eye candy as people think. We have logos in other places too, name and vividly while booting the kernel we can have logo as number of CPU threads.
So, it is not new but a useful addition to the important stuff. Moreover, it is monochrome, so certainly not resource-hungry. Plus, if all else fails, the ASCII art logo is still there to show. :)
