I heard something about Egyptian officials trying to stop the contest because they think that Great Pyramid at Giza should be the only thing allowed to be called a wonder of the world. It's the only remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and we should give it the respect it deserves and not have a contest to pick a new seven.

It was pretty obvious Egypt was worried that the pyramids are going to lose this time around.
