KOTOR was a great game. Then EA bought them and they released Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Three of the best RPGs ever to my mind.

Hate to see Bioware go...but when Mass Effect 3 came out in 2012, and surely 90% of the employees have moved on, how much institutional knowledge is there to make the next game in the series? (Sorry Andromeda)
$56K to decompile Pokemon Heartgold, a 4 MB game for the Nintendo DS. I think we've still got a while to go before AI changes the landscape in a meaningful way.
No, it's totally clear what the title means and you are either being pedantic or are a a serious autist.
I've heard this from a few people and I don't get it. AnyPS5 isn't anywhere near working yet. It'll take years before AAA titles are running. I wouldn't be surprised if GTA6 is running by 2030, but not much sooner.
Gaming Computers are a dead end. Even before OpenAI became a household word they were generally far over $1500. And outside of being able to play games on them, they weren't really any better than a cheap mini PC.
There's only so many people willing to spend huge amounts on a game machine.
And the new PS5 Pro is $900. Fucking ridiculous, but not just XBox.
Right now it’s only being done in a very limited number of places. I know the big one is some small suburb of Austin.
There's a million things wrong with this idea, but to me the two most obvious are, why would anyone use a social media app nobody else uses? And who would have control over this app?
I don't know what's normal for retail, but surely a lot of the business is drawn by the novelty of an AI operated store.
Right, whites and blacks kissing on TV! Heavy handed messages about race - like, one race is white on the left half, the other race is white on the right half, and they think it's so important! Women as bridge officers, Jews actors playing the biggest roles, constant anti-war themes, capitalism depicted as a primitive relic of Earth's past...the list goes on. Just disgusting.
Do you seriously thing Slashdot is getting marketing from obscure movie studios? Are they trying to corner up the "poor & old IT closet cleaner" demographic? Are they chasing the 27 replies this story will get?
A whole floor dedicated to Banksy, a meme artist from 2018! Sorry, I'm open to new or whimsical architecture, but at least from the outside, the building looks stupid.
This museum is basically "Star Wars exhibit with some other stuff for some reason." After the initial rush of Star Wars fans, who wants to go? And in 30 years when the last kid who saw star wars in the theater is dead, will anybody care at all?
Doing it in software means you can move CPUs from one machine to another based on the time of day. Your CI infrastructure can lose some resources from its UI at night and make another server for nightly builds when most of your users are away, without either having a VM layer in between or needing the builds to happen on a kernel configured with the features needed by the UI.
The point is that the price of computers (and computing devices) has gone up substantially. Everybody knows this, not addressing common knowledge is making an argument in bad faith.
But yeah you can get an underpowered mini PC for $300 if that's all you need or can afford.
